ITANAGAR, Dec 07: Director, Sports and Youth Affairs DK Dinglow accompanied by Assistant Director Ramesh Linggi today paid visit to the newly built Shotokan Karate Training Hall at Naharlagun and the temporary indoor stadium constructed for holding the 7th National Shotokan Karate Championship beginning at Naharlagun on December 13.
Dinglow, while inspecting the training centre, highly appreciated the initiative taken by Arunachal Karate Do Association (AKA) president Likha Tara for further development of Karate in the state. He hoped that the training centre would go a long way in providing the all required training facilities to the budding karate players of the state.

The fire crackers lit up the sky of Seppa town as massive crowd turned up to witness closing ceremony. Large contingent of Bollywood artistes, including Indian idol runner up Amit Paul performed.
Chief patron of the tournament Kumar Waii informed that tournament was started to provide a platform to the young players of state so that they can hone their skills and can compete with best players at national level. He also added that organizing such a mega event at Seppa town, the headquarter of East Kameng, one of the most backward districts of state will imbibe sense of responsibility to the people of the region as they will learn many thing from the visiting teams and officials. Electoral revision in East Siang gets underway

RUKSIN, Dec 07: Following instruction of State Election Commission, the election department in East Siang is conducting summery revision of electoral roll in its all five assembly segments. The total number of electorates in the district as per draft electoral roll was 58,224 and the figure is reportedly decreased as some names are reportedly deleted from the roll for failing to produce photographs.
Sources from District Election Office at Pasighat said that the process of special summery revision of the electoral rolls including receipt and disposal of claims and objection besides preparation of and Photo Electoral Roll (PER) is on progress.

Sources informed that the State Election Commission (EC) has strictly instructed the concerning Election officers for 100% achievement of the election related activities in this revision. So, the EC on November 1 last strictly instructed the East Siang Deputy Commissioner to assure 100% achievement in the preparation of Electoral Photo Identity Card (EPIC) and Photo Electoral Roll(PER).
Meanwhile, observer deputed by Election Commission has visited electoral revision process in all five assembly segments and verified the records of claims and objection and deletion etc.

ITANAGAR, Dec 07: Water Supply Project at Maro (Rite) village under NRDWP was inaugurated by Secretary PHE & WS Tomi Ete on December 4 in presence of Sentum Yomcha, SE PHEC Bene and A N Singh, Director, CCDU.
The Secretary appreciated the efforts of the field engineers and the villagers for their involvement in successful completion of the project. A visit to Donyi Polo School
Dear Editor,
Chief Minister’s visit to Donyi Polo School for Hearing Impaired reminds me of my own visit to that School. During my stay in Capital, every month I visited the school to meet my sister. I had nothing much to give, so I would just take a packet of sweets and give it to one of the brothers and he would distribute to all. The smile they gave was so beautiful.
That day I went by auto, as usual. Stopping close to gate I saw some children playing outside the hostel. I was quite far, and I saw one of those children say something and he ran inside, and when I reached the hostel, there was my sister, ready to greet me. She held my hands and led me upstairs. She brought me to a room and signaled me to sit, and then a group of sisters there greets me. And then they played music, then they danced to the tune. But it was only me, among them, who could hear the song, but couldn’t dance. I am still way far behind Big B, while they danced to the music with a great perfection. I clapped after their performance and wanted to say much more, but alas, I couldn’t communicate it. They taught me alphabet with hand signals, I learnt some and that’s how I knew some of their names. I thanked and they smiled back. Since I shifted from the capital I couldn’t pay them a visit.

Commercial vehicles are not ATMs
Dear Editor,
Traffic Police of the City conducts mobile court four times a week and on Sunday it is mandatory.
No doubt they are doing a commendable job but on the other hand it is a nuisance for the vehicle owners who have valid documents.
Besides, mobile courts without the presence of responsible Officers are common practice which is a bit awkward. If anything happen, who will be responsible?
These squads target commercial vehicles only. Traffic constables on duty do not excuse even the petty offences.
To avoid any arguments, drivers dish out Rs. 100/-
Apart from above, I am confused who is an appropriate authority to conduct mobile court? Is it MVI, Traffic Police or Civil Police? Because when MVI is with magistrate during mobile court, they check all vehicles irrespective of private or public whereas the Traffic constables are very particulars about the commercial vehicle only. And their timing is early morning.
On Sundays police personnel on duty of the Banderdewa and Kimin check gates demand Sunday fees from commercial vehicles. Are Commercial Vehicles ATMs? If such responsible personnel become parasite, there is bound to be problem for Commercial Vehicles owners many of who struggle to pay their EMIs.
I request the concern authorities to at least conduct it once a month instead of three or four times.

Need for open and equal participation
Dear Editor,
This is in reference to the job notification published in your esteemed daily on 7th Dec 2012. The job notification of vacant 51 posts for S.I, where 28 seats are flatly reserved for the Tirap, Changlang and Longding districts is a sign of total favouratism. There have been some instances too when huge numbers of seats have been reserved for them while rest of the districts are left to compete for a least number of posts. Sometimes we are left with a feeling that we are enlisted in general category.
The reason behind is none, but the same old excuse of insurgency. Now, is this the ultimate preventive measure to dissuade youths of these districts from joining insurgency groups? If it is so than despite such reservations and privileges why there are still problems and resounding woes? Instead, why don't the State govt. resolve the problems and let the whole state participate equally?
Therefore, with few questions to be answered by the concerned authorities, I would like to appeal for an open and common platform for whole of the State as prevention is always better than cure.
